Los Luceros is a fascinating Historic Site owned and operated by the State of New Mexico’s Department of Cultural Affairs. Our firm was hired to restore two of the adobe structures there, the Hacienda and Almacén buildings. Established in the 1700s as a large ranch by the Spanish Colonists who came to New Mexico, the Hacienda was built with 4 foot thick adobe walls and a beautiful two story surrounding Veranda. It served as the main residence there for many years and also as a Courthouse. The Almacén was built in the 1800s as an adjacent adobe storage building. Both buildings are in need of structural repairs and utility upgrades.
