Primary Materials: CMU and field stone foundations, log walls, spruce flooring, timber beams, metal roofing
Systems: Passive solar heating with wood-burning stove and electric baseboard back-up, water filtration system, conventional power and septic systems Visitor Center building incorporates high efficiency “Green” technologies in its heating and cooling systems and is super insulated to minimize heating and cooling costs.
Local materials, including stone, were used along with the Golden Section and Sacred Geometries to integrate this sanctuary with the traditions of the Lindisfarne Retreat. The retreat is located high in the Rocky Mountains near Crestone, Colorado, a religious center for several faiths.
