LOCATION: Crestone, Colorado

SIZE: 1,824 s.f.

BUILDER: Van Iwaarden Builders, Inc.

MAJOR MATERIALS: CMU and field stone foundations, log walls, spruce flooring, timber beams, metal roofing.

MECHANICAL & HEATING SYSTEMS: Passive solar heating with wood-burning stove and electric baseboard back-up, water filtration system, conventional power and septic systems.

DESIGN: Local materials from stone to logs were used along with the Golden Section and Sacred Geometries to integrate this residence with the traditions of the Lindisfarne retreat. The retreat is located high in the Rocky Mountains near Crestone, Colorado, a religious center for several faiths.
