Casa Mirasol,
Ojo Caliente, New Mexico.

This house house in Northern New Mexico was built with as little disturbance to the site as possible. It takes advantage of passive solar, wood fuel and solar photovoltaic renewable energy sources. It is oriented on a due east-west axis for maximum solar gain in the winter and with overhangs and side walls to minimize solar gain in the summer. High mass stone floors compliment the one foot thick adobe walls for heat storage. The adobe construction works perfectly in this climate for 12 hour thermal transfer to the interior.
