Restoration & Conversion

rendering by John Barton

Seaport Mews,New York, NY.

This 1835 "Mill" building was used as a warehouse and staging area by generations of rag merchants. The building was purchased with a first-rate restoration and luxury condominium conversion and commercial space mix in mind. Under the auspices of the Landmarks Preservation Commission, careful attention was paid to the design of the cast iron first floor facade. Design themes from the area's long standing tradition of stone, iron and wood construction were incorporated. A two story addition housing 24 luxury apartments completes the restored facade.
