The Mesa Vista Consolidated Schools Special Education Classroom Buildings, located in El Rito, included state-of-the-art computer and classroom facilities and sustainable building technologies. The structure is made from (recycled) lightweight steel framing. In our design, we prioritized passive solar heating and cooling and daylight with both windows and tubular skylights. The finishes were all soft yet durable and easy to clean. Both facilities also had complete kitchens and laundry areas for staff use.
